Interactive Presentation on Future Business Centre and Making your work place more productive

May 2017

Saunders Boston Architects were invited by local networking group ‘Drive The Network’ to talk about Future Business Centre (FBC) and how to optimise productivity in the work place.  The group meets monthly at FBC and is celebrating its first year anniversary - this seemed a particularly pertinent time for the talk to take place.

Project Architect Mark Pugh presented the architectural model and ran through the design of the building highlighting the features and technologies which contributed to the BREEAM Excellent certification.  This was followed by a presentation by Zib Gotto exploring the long term cost savings and productivity enhancement achievable through careful consideration of the workplace environment. Zib highlighted in the context of the ‘80:10:10 rule of thumb’ (proportion of business costs attributed to salaries, property and other costs) – touching on:

• furniture solutions
• access to views
• daylight and circadian lighting
• sensory stimulation and physical factors
• biophilia
• flexible space use and future proofing the office

The presentations received a great response and generated a lot of discussion on the group’s Twitter and Facebook following the meeting.

Detailed Scale Model for launch of new Sports Centre at the Oundle School

May 2017

Saunders Boston Architects were appointed to procure a detailed physical scale model of the proposed new Sports Centre at The Oundle School.

Working in collaboration with professional architectural model makers Richard Threadgill Associates (London) and PRP landscapes Architects, a detailed scale model of the proposed new Sports Centre and associated external landscape was completed and delivered to The School at the end of April and has since taken centre stage at subsequent whole-school presentations.

The model resides at the school and is being utilised to promote the scheme.
