Detailed Scale Model for launch of new Sports Centre at the Oundle School

May 2017

Saunders Boston Architects were appointed to procure a detailed physical scale model of the proposed new Sports Centre at The Oundle School.

Working in collaboration with professional architectural model makers Richard Threadgill Associates (London) and PRP landscapes Architects, a detailed scale model of the proposed new Sports Centre and associated external landscape was completed and delivered to The School at the end of April and has since taken centre stage at subsequent whole-school presentations.

The model resides at the school and is being utilised to promote the scheme.

Planning Approval granted for new Sports Centre at the Oundle School

April 2017

Saunders Boston Architects are pleased to announce that planning permission has been granted for a new sports centre at Oundle School, Oundle, Peterborough. The centre comprises a 50 metre, 6-lane swimming pool with variable height floor and boom, an 8-court sports hall, fitness suite, specialist dance studio, hospitality/studio spaces (including a commercial kitchen catering for up to 300 covers) and external tennis and netball courts. Alongside this work, extensive remodelling of the existing landscape will be undertaken.

Saunders Boston has been working closely with Oundle School to develop proposals for the new centre as part of the School’s site-wide Master Plan for improvement of existing school sports facilities.

Work is anticipated to start on site in autumn 2017 and will be undertaken in two phases to ensure that the new centre is constructed and fully operational prior to the School’s existing swimming pool being decommissioned.

Completion is expected in time for the September 2019 academic term.
